
The ongoing massive transformation in Ekiti state sports sector has continued to attract commendation from relevant stakeholders, including a respected former footballer , Chief Dr. Francis Adebayo Daramola .
Chief Daramola, who served as Secretary to the Committee that converted the former Community Centre into a standard stadium named Oluyemi Kayode Stadium commended the giant stride of the state government in the remodelling of the stadium .
Speaking further during his visit to sport complex on Tuesday alongside the Technical Advisor on Sports Development to the Ekiti State Governor, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Olusola Osetoba, Chief Daramola , expressed delight in the quality and pace of work, describing the progress at the stadium as a clear reflection of purposeful leadership.


He opined that the facility is of the required standard, stressing that discipline, structure, and proper regulation are central to sustaining such infrastructure.
Drawing from his background as a former footballer and his exposure to stadiums across different countries, Chief Daramola emphasized that modern sports facilities operate under strict rules. He pointed out that practices such as the consumption of bottled drinks and alcohol within stadium premises have long been prohibited globally, underscoring the need to uphold international best practices in Ekiti State.
He also called on coaches and officials of the Ekiti State Sports Commission to demonstrate unity and professionalism by working closely with the Technical Advisor. According to him, collective support and cooperation are essential for the successful implementation of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s sports development vision.

Chief Daramola lauded the efforts of the Technical Advisor, Hon Hon. Dr. Mrs. Olusola Osetoba for her commitment and effective execution of the Governor Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s mandate in the sports sector. As a mark of recognition for her leadership and outstanding performance, he conferred on her the honorary appellation “Orente.”
The facility assessment tour was carried out alongside the Acting General Manager of the Ekiti State Sports Commission, Mr. Ogundele Mayowa; the Secretary of Ekiti United Football Club, Mr. Boluwaji Idowu; and other officials and staff of the Commission .
