
The Commander of Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (JTF OPEP), Major General E.F. Oyinlola, has called for sustained community cooperation to preserve the relative peace currently enjoyed in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The call was made during a stakeholders’ engagement organised by JTF OPEP Sector 5 on February 5, 2026, aimed at consolidating recent security gains and ensuring a peaceful farming season.
Major General Oyinlola emphasised that dialogue, trust-building, and community partnership remain critical to maintaining security and preventing a relapse into violence.


Participants at the meeting commended the improved calm witnessed in recent months and acknowledged the support of the Defence Headquarters and the Nigerian Army, particularly the provision of fertilisers to encourage agricultural activities.
Stakeholders also recommended the establishment of additional reconciliation platforms to deepen trust, promote peaceful coexistence, and strengthen collaboration among diverse groups in the area.
The engagement reaffirmed the military’s commitment to working closely with communities to secure lasting peace and support socio-economic recovery in Plateau State.
