The Nigeria Police Force has witnessed another major change in its leadership structure as Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Frank Mba officially retired after 34 years in service.
Mba, who oversaw Training and Development in the force before his retirement, stepped down following recent developments in the police leadership hierarchy, including the exit of former Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun and the appointment of Olatunji Rilwan Disu as the new head of the force.

During his long career, Mba built a reputation as one of the most visible officers in the police, particularly during his tenure as Force Public Relations Officer. He also served as spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, and later Assistant Inspector-General in charge of the FCID Annex, Panti, Lagos.

As part of efforts to reorganize the police leadership following the changes, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has invited seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police for promotion interviews to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General.

Those invited include Margareth Ochalla, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, Ishiaku Mohammed, Zacharia Fera Achinyan, Zango Ibrahim Baba, Mohammed Abdul Sulaiman, and Umar Shehu Nadada.
