Former Nigeria Coach and 1996 Atlanta Olympic Gold Winner, Bonfere Jo, has expressed confidence in the Nigerian players, stressing that the Country’s National team has the capacity to play against any country in the world if the players have access to good training and coaching.

The revered tactician made this known on Wednesday during the special edition of the Sports Center Personality Interview held on the Group’s Whatsapp Platform.
He attributed his decision to work with Nigeria during his spells in the country to the playing style and attacking force of the players over the years .

Coach Bonfere opined that the squad that emerged victorious in the Atlanta Olympic games were made of great players, adding that the trust and confidence reposed in them played a significant role in the success of the team .
Speaking about his early days, the coach revealed that he started his career as a player in the midfield and later played all the positions in the attack before becoming a tutor .
He expressed readiness in handling the Nigeria National team if consulted for the job by the football management body of the country.
“I have always enjoyed working in Nigeria considering the set of available players, with good training and coaching , Nigeria can play against any team in the world.
“Nigeria enjoys playing attacking football and that is what I also like to play as a coach”
“I started as a football player at 17 years till 38 In the Highest leagues in Holland . During my playing time, I started to study how to be a trainer and coach .The study was strong and not easy but I got the Highest coaching education.
” I was a trainer with a club and got a phone call if I would like to talk with officials to be the coach of Nigeria, and that was how the opportunity came.
“During the Atlanta 1996, the confidence was there. I was full of trust and belief in my players that we can win because we had a team that can play and win games”
“The NFF has never asked me if I have interest in handling the team again not even as a sports director. If there is any chance to help Nigeria to build up good teams from under 17-20- or the National team, I’m ready to help”
” My age is not the problem, the Dutch Coach. L v Gaal, 75 years will be the Dutch new coach. At my age, I don’t have to run around the field, I must teach the players and coaches how to train.
