
The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) has expressed its readiness for the Osun State governorship election, slated for Saturday, August 15, assuring that the people’s vote will count .
INEC Commissioner , Professor Kunle Ajayi disclosed this on Friday while featuring on a live program on Channels Television, anchored by Seun Akinbaloye .

Prof. Kunle disclosed that the election management body is much ready for the election having deployed all the election materials to the local governments across Osun state .
He hinted that INEC was unable to distribute the election materials as planned earlier , citing the court judgement that called for the inclusion of the Social Democratic Party ( SDP) in the poll as reason for change in the date .

He explained that the election will commence early in the morning while voting will come to an end by 2:30pm . Prof Kunle added that prospective voters on the cue as at 2:30pm on election day will have the opportunity to vote for preferred candidates .
He declined the possibility of having an inconclusive election, saying that logistics and other necessary arrangements had been put in place .
According to Prof Kunle, the election would be transparent and election results will be transmitted online promptly.
He allayed the fears of residents of Osun state and eligible voters on intimidation and harassment on election day, urging them to vote en-masse tomorrow, particularly, the youths .
