The Ibadan Chapter of the Olivet Baptist High School Old Students Association, Oyo, on Saturday, staged its Fifth Annual Health Walk, tagged #Walk4Life.

Members converged at the Oyo State Government Secretariat main gate in the city of Ibadan for the fitness walk that featured free eye test and distribution of glasses to concerned individuals.

The Vice Chairman of the Chapter, Mr. Sola Kolawole, in an interview shortly after the exercise, explained that the idea behind the event was to bring the Olivet family in Ibadan together for physical fitness.

Mr Kolawole, who spoke on behalf of the Chairman of the Chapter, Mr. Olatunde Ajayi-Ope, added that the annual health walk was part of the association’s programmes meant to unite members and also take care of their welfare.
Highlighting the activities and achievements of the chapter, Mr. Kolawole reiterated the commitment of the leadership of the Chapter to build on the success recorded so far.
He encouraged the alumni of the school to identify with the association’s chapter nationwide, describing the chapter as an ecosystem of the old student associations.

“Each year we try to do better than the previous year. Last year, we had a lecture that focused on all areas of nutrition, a group of nurses were on ground who attended to medical issues on the spot. It was comprehensive. The success recorded this year, is an addition to that of the previous editions”
“The concept of the chapter is for generations to come together, it is a hybrid, the products of the school meet and discuss important issues.”
“Today, we have different sets, we even have kids who could attend Olivet in the future. So, I encourage the alumni of the school not to restrict themselves to their classmates but to attend chapter meetings and network. “

In his remarks, the Chairman of the 2026 Health Walk Organizing Committee, Arc. Abimbola Oladejo, lauded the continued support of members and contributions to the success of the event.

He emphasized the need for a strong bond among members, saying this could be achieved when members attend meetings regularly and other engagements.
