The Oyo Global Forum ( OGF), has announced December 28, 2026 as the date for its debate that would feature candidates from Oyo East , Afijio , Atiba and Oyo West Local Government Councils vying for the state and federal legislative seats in the forthcoming 2027 general elections
In a statement by the Chairman of the forum, Dr Garuba Rasheed Obashekore, the event is in collaboration with the radio stations operating in Oyo town, aimed at providing candidates from different political parties a platform to present their manifestos to prospective voters .
According to the statement, the collaboration is expected to promote wider engagement and participation by members of the public.
The statement said further that the debate would also encourage issues- based political engagements and address issues affecting the people of the constituencies .
The statement called on residents of the constituencies , community leaders , stakeholders, young people and other interested groups to support the initiative.
The forum is expected to provide eligible voters an opportunity to assess candidates’ ideas and positions before making their choices in the 2027 general elections . Participation is open to all, while venue for the debate would be announced soon .
