
Former Governor of Oyo State, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja has been nominated by the Olubadan – in – Council as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The nomination of Senator Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland was moved by Balogun Olubadan, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, and seconded by Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole, during an official meeting at the Olubadan’s Palace, Oke-Aremo , Ibadan .

According to Oba Ajibola, all members of the Olubadan-in-Council have signed off on Ladoja’s nomination, highlighting the consensus among the traditional leaders.
The Olubadan-in-Council is expected to submit Senator Ladoja’s name to Governor Seyi Makinde for ratification and coronation scheduling.
The nomination comes after the completion of the 21-day mourning period for the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away on July 7, 2025. Oba Olakulehin took over from Oba Dr. Mohood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland and reigned for just one year.
