The Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, has charged the Information Sector Football Team to go into the forthcoming Oyo State Public Service Games with confidence, declaring them the pace-setters in the Southwest.
Oyelade gave the charge on Friday at the Ikolaba High School Mini Sports Complex, Agodi-GRA, Ibadan, during a friendly match between the Information Sector and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The game, played as part of preparations for the tournament, ended in a goalless draw as both sides displayed resilience.

Addressing the players during the half-time break, Oyelade reminded them of the unique history of the ministry, noting that their office building has stood for nearly 50 years, the oldest in the Western Region.
“This history places us as the pace-setting ministry in the entire Southwest, and it should inspire us to give our best. The competition on Monday is important to us, and with determination we will legitimately win it,” he said.
The permanent secretary of the ministry, Mr. Rotimi Babalola, whom the team described as a source of inspiration, also commended the squad and appreciated the commissioner’s support.
“The team was led by the captain himself, His Honour, the Hon. Commissioner. Thanks so much for associating with us,” he said.
Coach Adegoke Damola equally hailed the commissioner’s presence, describing it as a morale booster.
“It is indeed a great honour that we truly appreciate. More than anything, we value your support and presence here today. Thank you, Your Honour,” he added.
The Information Sector will face Finance Sector in their opening match at the Oyo State Public Service Games on Monday.
