The Oyo State House of Assembly has received and acknowledged a letter from the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, notifying the legislature of his intention to proceed on a one-month leave from Thursday, August 28, 2025, to Monday, September 29, 2025.
The letter, which was read at Tuesday’s plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, was in compliance with Section 190(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which mandates the governor to transmit a written notice to the House before proceeding on leave.
In the letter, Governor Makinde conveyed his request for leave and formally handed over the responsibilities of the office to the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, who will serve as Acting Governor throughout the vacation period.
