The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a 1-1 draw against South Africa in the 2026 World Cup Qualifying Game played on Tuesday in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
Other qualifying games played same day by some African countries across centers witnessed thrilling moments with interesting results .

An unfortunate own goal by Super Eagles Defender, William Troost-Ekong put Nigeria behind, Calvin Bassey leveled up in the first half of the game .
With this result, Nigeria now goes behind South Africa by six points with only two games remaining, making Nigeria’s world cup qualification a challenging task.
Meanwhile , Benin thrashed Lesotho 4-0 in other group C match , while Rwanda edged Zimbabwe 1-0.
In Group A, Sierra Leone secured a 2-0 win over Ethiopia, while Burkina Faso and Egypt played out a goalless draw.
Group B witnessed Senegal’s 3-2 victory over Congo DR, Togo defeated Sudan by a lone goal . The match between Mauritania and South Sudan ended goalless.
Group D saw Cape Verde’s 1-0 win over Cameroon and Angola’s 3-1 victory against Mauritius.
Niger claimed a 1-0 win over Tanzania in Group E, while Group F witnessed Kenya’s impressive 5-0 rout of Seychelles. It was a draw in the game between Gabon and Ivory Coast as Gambia defeated Burundi 2-0
In Group H, Namibia thrashed São Tomé e Príncipe 3-0.
