Afrobeats Superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been announced as the Chairman , Osun State Sports Trust fund .
The appointment was confirmed by the Osun State Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi .
According to the government, the trust fund is being introduced to attract support from philanthropists within and outside the state, ensuring sustainable sports financing and development.
The Deputy Governor, who also serves as the Commissioner for Sports in the state, disclosed that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration is determined to transform the stadium in the state into a world-class sports arena, capable of hosting both national and international events.
He added that Plans are in advanced stages towards establishing the Osun State Sports Commission, which will serve as a central body for sports administration, development, and policy implementation.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to completing the ongoing renovation and rehabilitation of the Osogbo Township Stadium, assuring that the upgraded facility will meet Olympic standards upon completion.
