The Senate has confirmed General Olufemi Oluyede as the Chief of Defence Staff.
Oluyede was confirmed on Wednesday alongside other newly appointed service chiefs, who appeared before the Senate at the National Assembly for screening earlier in the day .
Oluyede was cleared barely an hour after his arrival, following a brief screening session conducted under tight security.
The nominees were accompanied to the National assembly by several senior military officers.
