Professor Mohammed Isa Kida has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Nasarawa State.
The appointment was conveyed by the Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Mrs. Lola Fibisola Akande following the approval of the new Vice Chancellor by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu .
Mrs. Akande presented the appointment letter to the new Vice Chancellor on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
According to the appointment letter, Professor Kida’s tenure will run for a single term of five years, effective from February 11, 2026.
Mrs. Akande urged Professor Kida to bring his wealth of academic and administrative experience to bear in promoting excellence, strengthening research, and driving innovation for the continued growth and development of the institution.
Professor Kida, a distinguished scholar of Accounting and Finance, was until his appointment the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences at FULafia. An accomplished accountant, author, and financial consultant, he has spent nearly three decades in academia, dedicating his career to teaching, research, and service to humanity.
He succeeds Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, whose tenure as Vice Chancellor will end in February 2026.
