The Majority Leader of the upper chamber , Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, has dismissed reports of an alleged plot to remove the presiding officer of the Senate, warning against the spread of false information capable of misleading the public.
Reacting to media reports citing an interview granted by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Bamidele clarified that Senator Kalu had since explained he was quoted out of context regarding the purported impeachment plan.
Bamidele reaffirmed that the Senate remains united and has no reason to consider the removal of its President, describing the rumor as baseless and mischievous.

He cautioned that the 10th Senate maintains a zero-tolerance stance against misinformation and will not condone any attempt to create unnecessary tension or distractions within the upper chamber.
