The Oyo State Police Command has increased its surveillance and monitoring across major transportation hubs in Ibadan as the city prepares to host the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention ,scheduled for November 15 and 16 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.
According to the statement released on behalf of the Oyo State Commissioner of Police by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Osifeso Adewale, security attention is being heightened at public parks, train stations, and the Samuel Ladoke Akintola International Airport as part of a broader strategy to manage the expected influx of delegates, observers, and guests arriving for the two-day event.
The Command stated further that proactive patrols, intelligence-led stop-and-search operations, and coordination with other security agencies have been arranged to ensure smooth movement in and out of Oyo State. These measures are also geared toward preventing disruptions and maintaining order throughout the convention period.

Residents were advised to make use of alternative routes around the stadium and within Ibadan to avoid possible traffic delays. The police also cautioned against unauthorized public gatherings or rallies before, during, or after the convention.
The Command urged the public to adhere to guidelines and to promptly report any suspicious activities to security authorities.
