The abduction of Hon. Wale Oriade, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Oyo State, has reignited concerns over the growing wave of insecurity in the state and Nigeria as a whole .
Reacting to the development, the Agba-Akin Olubadan of Ibadanland and former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, described the kidnap as a disturbing reminder of the urgent need for strengthened security measures.
In a statement on Wednesday, Folarin called for an aggressive and coordinated response from security agencies to prevent further deterioration of the situation.

He noted that the scenerior should serve as a wake-up call to security operatives, warning that criminal activities of this nature pose a threat to public safety and democratic engagement.
Folarin urged residents to stay vigilant and support ongoing efforts by providing relevant information that could lead to Oriade’s rescue. He also extended prayers to the victim’s family, expressing hope for his safe return.
