The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has unveiled plans for an extensive grassroots engagement tour designed to deepen internal cohesion, reconnect with party structures at the ward level, and reposition the party for future electoral contests.
The exercise will formally take off on Monday at the Oyo Federal Constituency, serving as the launch point for similar engagements across the remaining 13 federal constituencies in the state.
The tour is being coordinated by the Alhaji Olayide Abas–led State Executive Committee, working in synergy with the Presidential Renewed Hope Ambassadors. Party leaders say the initiative goes beyond routine meetings, focusing instead on reconciliation, confidence-building, and an honest appraisal of the party’s strength and challenges at the grassroots.

In a joint statement released on Thursday, the Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, and the State Secretary of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Mr. Afeez Bolaji Repete, explained that the decision followed wide consultations among stakeholders who agreed on the need to close ranks and reinforce unity across the party.
The maiden engagement in Oyo is scheduled for the Oba Adeyemi Sports Arcade, Ode-Aremo, and will feature an open interactive session where party leaders and members are expected to freely exchange views on the future of the party in the state.
According to the organisers, the meeting will underline the party’s determination to remain competitive and disciplined as preparations begin in earnest for the 2027 general elections, with APC leaders resolved to approach the task with renewed focus and collective responsibility.
The gathering will also serve as a rallying point for supporters of the Renewed Hope Agenda, as party leaders outline strategies for reclaiming political leadership in Oyo State. Participants are expected from Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East and Oyo West local government areas, cutting across youths, women groups, students, artisans and professionals.
Beyond party affairs, the session will highlight key policy outcomes and achievements of the Tinubu administration, which party leaders described as evidence of APC’s capacity to deliver governance that improves the lives of Nigerians.
