Eminent personalities from far and near, including the traditional rulers on Saturday converged on Olivet Baptist High School , Oyo for the grand finale of the 50th Birthday Celebration of the Alaafin of Oyo , His Imperial Majesty , Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade 1 .
The birthday was celebrated alongside 19th year wedding anniversary of the revered monarch and his lovely wife, Queen Ibiwumi Owoade.
The week- long birthday celebration also witnessed Football and Table Tennis Competitions, commissioning of laudable projects in Oyo town and its environs among others .
Queen Owoade also donated wheelchairs to 10 physically challenged individuals to aid their mobility and cash gifts , which serves as relief to the beneficiaries , a gesture she promised to do continually .
Notable personalities who graced the grand finale included Former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, represented by the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin , Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye , First Female Speaker in Oyo State , Senator Monsurat Sunmonu and a host of others.
Speaking at the event, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, Elewu Etu 1, expressed gratitude to all and sundry for being part of the historic event .
The monarch assured that he will remain an advocate of peace and continually strive for the progress and betterment of Yoruba race .
In her remarks, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, lauded the good work of Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, assuring him of necessary support.
Birthday cake was cut amidst funfair, while the Juju Icon , King Suny Ade and his band sing to the delight of the guests .
