Barau FC forward, Nana Abraham, says he is recovering well after sustaining a neck injury during a violent incident in Saturday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 12 encounter against Katsina United at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium.
Trouble began shortly after Orji Kalu scored a 69th-minute equaliser for Barau FC, triggering violent reactions from some home supporters. The chaos led to an attack on Abraham and a club official, Jabir Hassan, forcing a temporary suspension of play.
In a statement on Sunday by Barau FC’s Media Director, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, confirmed that all injured persons are responding to treatment.

“Thank God I am feeling better right now. Our medical team did their best in treating my injuries. It’s unfortunate what happened. Football is not a war you can either win, draw, or lose.” He said .
Medical personnel, led by Sani Idris, attended to the injured individuals, including several fans caught up in the violence. The match resumed after nearly ten minutes and ended in a 1–1 draw.
