Ambassador Shakirullah Jimoh Orankan, an aspirant for the Oyo Central Senatorial District under the platform of the Accord Party, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians and all residents of Oyo State, urging them to embrace the values of love, sacrifice, and unity symbolised by the season.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, Orankan congratulated the Christian faithful on the successful completion of the Lenten period and the celebration of Easter, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He described Easter as a period of deep reflection and renewal, noting that the lessons of selflessness, compassion, and hope inherent in the season remain vital for national development and peaceful coexistence.
The senatorial hopeful called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious or political affiliations, to use the occasion to promote harmony and strengthen the bonds of unity across communities.
“Easter is not only a time of celebration but also a reminder of the triumph of hope over despair. It is a call for us all to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, forgiveness, and love for one another,” Orankan stated.
He further urged leaders at all levels to prioritise the welfare of the people and work towards building a more inclusive and prosperous society.
Orankan reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District, pledging to pursue policies that will enhance development, empower the youth, and improve the standard of living if elected.
