as Organizers Unveil T. Shirt for 20 Years Anniversary
The organizers of Dayo Ojo Okocha 20 Years Sports Journalism Anniversary have unveiled the official T. Shirt for the grand finale of the event , slated for Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Speaking during the brief unveiling ceremony on Saturday in Oyo town, Member, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. ( Prince) Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi ,lauded the impacts of the veteran journalist, Dayo Ojo on the development of sports, particularly at the grassroots.
He revealed that the celebrant is one of the pioneer sports broadcasters in Oyo town and its environs , saying that his expertise in the broadcasting world remains a source of inspiration for upcoming journalist.
He urged sports enthusiasts in the ancient town and beyond, philanthropists , political associates, individuals to support the project in making the event a memorable one for the celebrant.
He speaks further “Dayo Ojo is one of the sport journalists Oyo town has produced. He attended Olivet Baptist High School and later went to University of Ibadan .
“He played for many football teams ,majorly Ajisafe Babes , we both played for Ajisafe Babes , Oyo. I remember in 1995, one of the under 17 football tournaments in Oyo town, Ajisafe Babes won it, and was a wonderful period.
” I remember very well, 20 years ago, just like yesterday, at NTA Oyo, when he started his broadcasting, he present sports analysis on TV and radio. And now also goes to organizing sporting activities, football tournaments.
“So, in celebrating this veteran journalist at 20, I want to encourage everybody to support Dayo Ojo, work with him, and let the occasion be memorable”
The grand finale scheduled to hold at the St Bernadines Girls Grammar School Oyo, will feature presentation of awards to distinguished personalities, veterans football final match between Akinyele Living Legends and Wesley Ambassadors , Ibadan , slated for 9am, live sports presentation and sports quiz.
Expected to grace the event are; Oba James Odeniran ( Chairman , Oyo FA ), Akogun Yinka Afonja, Arch. Abayomi Ajisafe,Engr. Biodun Ajisafe, Senator ( DR.) Yunus Akintunde, Engr Idris Adeoye , Barrister Wakil Oyedemi , Hon. Abdulrahman Oloropoto Cephas, Hon. Isiaka Kazeem Tunde ( Arole ), Mr. Temitope Obideyi, Mr. Manjeed Agboola , Engr. Raji Kolawole Kazeem among others .
