
as FASON Holds Conference in Ibadan
Muslim scholars under the aegis of the Federation of Ahlus-Sunnah Organizations in Nigeria FASON have converged in Ibadan to solidify unity among the Ummah, preach against divisions, proffer workable solutions to ensure good governance and better individual lives.
The 3-day conference held at the Islamic Centre, University of Ibadan, with the theme: “Our 4Fs, Our Faith, our Family, Our Finance, Our Future” featured presentations from erudite Islamic scholars on different perspectives.

The leading guest speaker, a lecturer at the Department of Islamic Law, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, Professor Abdulmajeed AbdurRazaq Alaro affirmed that faith in monotheism of Allah is the basic identity of Muslim which should define and guide in every worldly affairs.
Professor Alaro explained that it was essential for Muslims to always assess his/her compliance to Quran and prophetic teachings, and not to stray from them.
According to him, “we need to stabilize the Muslim youths, to avoid destroying their faith, wealthy Muslims should invest in establishment of Islamic universities, Centres for religious learning”.
On the issue of future, Professor Alaro maintained that fathers, who are the head of homes should emplace good family values, instil virtues of hard work, contentment, and discourage the temptation to get rich quick, especially among the youth for promising future.
He said financial stability is very helpful for Islamic propagation as some companions of Prophet Muhammad such as Abu Bakr and Usman spent their wealth to assist proselytizing.
Similarly, a Professor of Political Science from University of Abuja, Mutiullah Olasupo said seeking Allah’s intervention through devotion to worship and obedience to commandments remained the panacea to socio-economic problems facing Nigeria.
Professor Olasupo advised the youths against plying the short cut solutions to poverty.
In a keynote address, one of the rapporteurs from Kaduna, Dr Muhammad Tiamiy Sulaiman said true faith in Allah is key to nurturing good family, society, and future for Muslims.
The West Africa/ National Ameer Ja’matul Izalatul Bid’ah Wa Iqamotus-Sunnah (JIBWIS), Dr Abdullah Bala Lau stressed that Muslims must be united to achieve the 4Fs.
“Once you are a Muslim, we are a family, we must guide our family right, let us prepare our future by empowering youths to safeguard our financial institutions”, Lau said.
The JIBWIS leader while congratulating Oba Rashidi Ladoja on his ascension to the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, prayed for President Bola Tinubu for divine wisdom to fulfill his administration’s renewed hope agenda for Nigerians.
The National Ameer, Federation of Ahlus-Sunnah Organizations in Nigeria (FASON), Sheikh Tajudeen Abdulkareem Al-adabiyy explained that the gathering was to ensure peace, progress and unity of the nation.
“We are here to sustain our unity, we prioritize peace of mind for our leaders (President Bola Tinubu and Governors, Engineer Seyi Makinde) to rule without chaos in the society”, Al-adabiyy stated.
Dignitaries at the well attended conference included two Royal Fathers, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Azeez Olatunbosun Adebanji, Akire of Ikire Ile and His Royal Majesty, Oba Muhammad Raji Qazeem, Olowu of Owu Ile in Osun state, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abubakr Agbotomokekere, representated by a member of Imam-in-council, Sheikh Ismaheel Yusuf.
