Pharm. Judith Ngozi Udeh, Principal Manager, Marketing at Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, and Co-Initiator of the Geneith Health Competition (GHC), took centre stage at the 8th Annual BAMSA Symposium of Lagos State University (LASU), where the innovative health initiative was officially activated.
Udeh, who led the Geneith delegation comprising Pharm. Abimbola Bowoto, Assistant General Manager (Sales & Marketing), Pharm. James Ochuogu, and Pharm. Somto Chimbiko, both Brand Managers, unveiled the vision of the GHC before an audience of over 1,000 students. She described the competition as a nationwide academic platform designed to promote malaria awareness, reward academic excellence, and empower youths as health advocates.
The activation, held in partnership with CEOAFRICA, combined academic engagement with medical outreach, including free health screenings, personalised wellness counselling, and on-site registration using PINs from Coatal Forte Softgel.
Highlighting the transformative role of the competition, Udeh said: “This competition is more than rewarding — it’s empowering. The focus on malaria education positions students not just as learners but as leaders in health advocacy. By educating students, we transform them into health ambassadors who spread awareness across homes, schools, and communities, advancing national and global health goals.”

The symposium, themed “Beyond Boundaries: Adapting, Innovation, and Creativity,” also featured detailed presentations on the structure and benefits of the GHC.
Prof. N.S. Alaka, Head of Department of Business Administration, commended the initiative, noting that it equips students to make meaningful community impact while creating opportunities to attain financial success before graduation.
Beyond recognition of talent, the GHC is strategically positioned to strengthen Nigeria’s malaria eradication drive. By engaging undergraduates in research, innovation, and peer-to-peer education, the competition provides a sustainable approach to addressing one of Africa’s most persistent health challenges. The initiative links classroom knowledge to real-life health advocacy, ensuring that future leaders are not only academically excellent but socially responsible in tackling diseases that continue to burden communities.
Awards of Recognition were presented to Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, CEOAFRICA, and Pharm. Udeh herself for their roles in advancing healthcare innovation, impactful journalism, and youth empowerment.
