
The Chief Operating Officer, Nigeria Nationwide League one ( NLO), Shola Ogunowo, has been honoured with an award by the Association of Football Clubs and Coaches in Kaduna State.
The honour was bestowed on the astute football administrator on Saturday in Kaduna by the association for supporting grassroots football and his selfless service to the state .
He appreciated the association for the award bestowed on him, saying the award will spur him to do more for the grassroots coaches and club owners .

” I sincerely appreciate this award and I assured you that this recognition will propel me to do lot better” Ogunowo assured .

The COO who recently disclosed in Ilorin that the league has expanded its scope beyond Nigeria has helped in securing partnerships with foreign entities to build the Nationwide League is no leaving stone unturned in cascading the modocum of support to the stakeholders in Kaduna state. He noted that he was also expecting two foreign partners to join them to improve the finacial status of the league
Exhibiting capacity and providing enabling environment for the grassroot football coaches in the state, Ogunowo highlighted the successful integration of technology to the third tier league which has improved administration and eliminated some associated challenges that hinder football development at the grassroots.
Apart from these, the availability of data for optimum visibility of the league, the partnership he secured with Sofascore has also made match results and goalscorers available worldwide, a feat unmatched by other Nigerian leagues.
Ogunnowo, along with his team has been able to make available 75% of matches on YouTube, showcasing players and the league globally, the efforts he promised to increase broadcast coverage to 90% next season.
Equipment and facilities purchased by the league operators has helped fans to enjoy exciting and professional Nationwide League One .
