Kwara United attained the historic feat after defeating Abakaliki Football Club of Ebonyi State (4 -3 ) on penalties .

The victory earned Afonja Warriors continental slot in the coming season.
In the female category of the prestigious championship, Rivers Angels beat Nasarawa Amazons 4-2 via penalty shootout in the final to retain the trophy.
Nasarawa Amazons took the lead in the first half but failed to maintain the momentum as the regulation time ended 2-2 .
