The final match of the 2025 Noble Brothers’ Club Football Competition lived up to expectations as Marvellous Football Academy of Oyo defeated Spectrum Football Club (7-6) on penalties.

The regulation time of the entertaining game played on Sunday at Durbar Stadium in Oyo town ended goalless before the resilient side, Marvellous Football Academy put smiles on the faces of their numerous fans and supporters after the dramatic penalty shootout.
The sponsor, Noble Brothers’ Club doled out cash and Gifts worth about two million naira during the championship.
Lord Mayor, Noble Brothers’ Club of Oyo , Idris Oluokun, while speaking with journalists, described the football tournament as a gainful engagement, capable of preventing the youths from negative social menace.
He hinted that the annual football competition remains one of the community development projects of the club ,targeted at assisting the youths in building a career in the round leader game .
He revealed that the club was established 25 years ago while the 2025 edition of the football tournament made it 10th in the history of the club .
He expressed satisfaction in the performances of the finalists ,and urged the runners -up to learn from their mistakes with a view to improving on their performances in subsequent competitions .

“The game was very interesting, just that the pitch did not support the game , it is a normal thing , we win and we lose, today, all the players are winners” .
” The initial budget for the project was around two million naira , we gave jerseys , we did this because we want them to look nice on the pitch”.
Speaking after the match, the Head Coach of Marvellous Football Academy , Oyo, Aderoju Zaccheous described the final as “very fantastic” but admitted it was the toughest challenge his team faced in the competition.
According to him, the team’s journey from the group stage through the quarter-final and semi-final was demanding. He attributed their success to thorough preparation and adherence to instructions by his boys .

“This final gave us a tough time, but we were able to overcome the struggle against the best team,” Aderoju said, explaining that their opponents had improved significantly since the group stage, where Marvellous FA defeated them 2–0.

Looking ahead, Coach Aderoju disclosed that the team’s next focus is the Bababambu Competition, one of the biggest football tournaments in Oyo and its environs. He confirmed that Marvellous FA had already qualified for the round of 16.
He commended the sponsor and organizers for being consistent and called for the presence of reputable football scouts in future editions to help talented players secure opportunities beyond the local scene.
Reacting to the prizes given , Coach Aderoju described them as commendable.”Winners received a set of jerseys, medals, and a cash prize of ₦200,000, while the second-placed team earned between ₦150,000 and ₦100,000 goes to the third position.
