Morocco commenced their Africa Cup of Nations 2025 campaign on Sunday night in a convincing fashion, defeating Comoros 2–0 in one of the group A matches .
The Atlas Lions dominated proceedings from the outset, controlling possession and dictating the tempo, even though Comoros put up a disciplined defensive display in the first half. That resistance eventually gave way after the interval, with Brahim Díaz breaking the deadlock before Ayoub El Kaabi added a second to secure three points.

The result underlined Morocco’s credentials as one of the tournament favourites .
Meanwhile, Mali will take on Zambia on Monday 22nd December in Group A , Egypt will face Zimbabwe in the evening in group B .South Africa will meet Angola later that day in another pivotal Group B match
On Tuesday, December 23, promises an intense day for Group C and D teams. Nigeria will square off against Tanzania, and Tunisia faces Uganda .
In Group D, Senegal is set to challenge Botswana, while DR Congo clashes with Benin, rounding off a busy day of competitive fixtures.
Wednesday, December 24, shifts focus to Groups E and F. Algeria takes on Sudan, and Burkina Faso faces Equatorial Guinea in Group E, as both teams aim to secure vital points.
Also in Group F , Ivory Coast will compete against Mozambique while Cameroon will battle Gabon.
Thursday, December 25, marks a brief pause in the action, with no matches scheduled as teams observe a rest day before returning to the pitch on December 26.
