In a thrilling semi-final match on Tuesday at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, the Super Falcons of Nigeria piped the hosts Nation and defending champions, Morocco 2 -1 to progress to the final of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Falcons took the lead just before halftime when Rasheedat Ajibade calmly slotted the ball into the net after a well-executed team move. South Africa equalized in the 60th minute, with Linda Motlhalo converting a penalty kick.
Nigeria got a late winner in the 94th minute, courtesy of an own goal.
With the victory, Super Falcons are one match away from claiming their 10th WAFCON record title.
