The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 2 witnessed thrilling matches, with Katsina United emerging victorious in their away game against Plateau United FC. The Katsina United duo of Sadiq Abubakar and Uche Collins scored crucial goals, securing a 2-1 win for their team.
Abubakar opened the scoring in the 12th minute, before Collins doubled the lead on the hour mark. Plateau United’s Gideon Monday scored a consolation goal 19 minutes from time, but it was too little, too late.
Other notable matches included Bayelsa United FC’s 2-0 thrashing of Barau FC, with Wisdom Magbisa and Ofem Nneoyi on target. Nasarawa United FC secured a narrow 1-0 win over Abia Warriors, while Enyimba FC earned their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes FC.
Rivers United FC won 1-0 against Kwara United FC, thanks to Ubong Friday’s 22nd-minute goal. Kano Pillars FC and Wikki Tourists FC played out a 1-1 draw, while Warri Wolves FC dominated Enugu Rangers FC with a 2-0 win.
The match between Ikorodu City FC and El-Kanemi Warriors ended in a goalless draw, and Bendel Insurance FC drew 1-1 with Shooting Stars SC. These results highlight the competitive nature of the NPFL, with several teams vying for top spots in the league table.
