The National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC ) has commenced the payment of N44,000 arrears to affected corps members.
The payment covers the difference between the old N33,000 and new N77,000 monthly allowance from July 2024 to March 2025.
The gesture by the federal government aims to provide succour to Corps Members thereby improving their living standard.
Meanwhile, both the current and recently discharged corps members are eligible to receive the arrears, with payments being made in batches. The N44,000 payment covers the period from July 2024 to March 2025, when the new allowance took effect.
Affected batches include Batch C 2023, Batch A and B 2024, and others who completed their service during the specified period.
One of the Beneficiaries of the gesture, Eunice Essien confirmed the payment on her post on an official NYSC page . She wrote: arrears is a goal ehhhh!!!”
