In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Oyo State, the Oyo State Prime Broadcasters have unveiled a list of the Top 50 Broadcasters who have made outstanding contributions to broadcasting and public communication across the state.
The recognition forms part of activities commemorating Oyo@50, highlighting individuals whose voices, programmes and professional excellence have shaped public discourse, preserved culture, and strengthened the media landscape over the decades.


Among those featured in the unveiled roll of honour are Yanju Adegbitẹ, Babatunde Tiamiyu, Lere Shittu, Olalomi Amole, Oluyemisi Oyetunde (Obabinrin), Ismail Olaniyan (Dr. Bayonlẹ), Abolade Salami, Kola Akintayo (Ode Ilu Ibadan), Yemi Sonde (Jigan Akala) and Idowu Oloto, alongside other distinguished broadcasters across radio and television platforms.
According to the organisers, the selection was based on professional impact, longevity, audience reach, content quality, and contribution to the growth of broadcasting in Oyo State.
The initiative aims not only to celebrate excellence but also to inspire younger broadcasters to uphold ethical standards and cultural relevance in media practice.
The Oyo@50 celebration continues to spotlight institutions and individuals who have played pivotal roles in the state’s development since its creation, with the media sector recognised as a critical pillar in governance, education, and social cohesion.
The Oyo State Prime Broadcasters reaffirmed their commitment to promoting professionalism and unity within the broadcast industry as Oyo State looks ahead to its next fifty years.
