

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State Chapter, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the sudden passing of Mr Kehinde Ojelowo, the Secretary of the Oyo State Football Association (OYSFA) and Chairman of State Football Secretaries in Nigeria, who reportedly slumped and died earlier today.
In a condolence message signed by the Chairman of Oyo SWAN, Otunba Ayomiku Ajibola, the association described Mr Ojelowo’s demise as a monumental loss to the Oyo State sports community and Nigerian football at large.
Otunba Ajibola noted that Elder Ojelowo was not only a dedicated football administrator but also a passionate advocate of grassroots sports development who served diligently in various capacities, including as a Director in the Oyo State Sports Council.
“Mr Ojelowo was a consummate professional whose commitment, humility, and wealth of experience contributed immensely to the growth of football in Oyo State and beyond. His death is a painful reminder of how fragile life is, and he will be sorely missed by the entire sporting family,” the statement read.
The Oyo SWAN Chairman, on behalf of all sports journalists in the state, commiserated with the family of the deceased, the Oyo State Football Association, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the entire football fraternity in Nigeria, praying that God grants all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He further prayed for the repose of Mr Ojelowo’s soul, asking the Almighty to grant him eternal rest and comfort all those mourning his departure.“Mr Ojelowo’s legacy of service and professionalism will forever remain in the hearts of all who worked with him. May his gentle soul rest in peace,” Otunba Ajibola added.
