The Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ), Oyo State Council has lauded both Federal and Oyo State governments for embarking on road improvements.
The Union in its communique issued at the end of the monthly congress held on Friday at the Press Center , Iyaganku Quarters , Ibadan, urged both governments to be more proactive in ensuring road safety.
The communique signed by the Secretary of the Council, Sola Oladapo acknowledged the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde and security agencies in tackling criminal elements.
The congress called on the government and security agencies to intensify surveillance across the state to prevent any potential threats .
While commending Governor Seyi Makinde for implementing the new minimum wage for workers , the Union appealed to the governor to increase the monthly subvention to the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State ( BCOS) to enable the agency to implement the new wage structure.
