
Security agencies have launched a coordinated operation following a deadly attack on the National Park Service (NPS) facility at Old Oyo National Park in Oloka, Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The attack, carried out by suspected bandits at about 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, resulted in the deaths of several park personnel, with reports indicating that at least five officers were killed.
Confirming the incident, the Conservator of the Park, Mr. Tesleem Kareem, said evacuation of the victims was ongoing, adding that the exact casualty figure had yet to be confirmed.
Police authorities said the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, alongside other service chiefs, immediately moved to the scene upon receiving reports of the attack.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, tactical teams, operatives of the Mobile Police Force, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units were deployed to secure the area and prevent further violence.
The incident has renewed concerns over the safety of residents of the state.
