
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh (SAN) as the new Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology.
The development came after the resignation of the former Minister, Mr. Uche Nnaji , who resigned amidst allegations of certificate forgery on October 7, 2025.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, through a letter sent to the Senate and read during plenary by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
In the letter, President Tinubu said the nomination was in accordance with Section 147(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and called on the Senate to give the nomination speedy approval.
“In compliance with Section 147(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), I am pleased to forward to the Senate the nomination of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh for confirmation as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
I trust that this request will receive the usual prompt consideration of the Senate,” the president stated.
Following the reading of the letter, the Senate referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for immediate consideration.
Dr. Udeh, an indigene of Enugu State, currently serves as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state .
