
Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookeere, has assured Nigerians of improved performance as his team prepare for the Round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
Coach Bankole admitted that his girls have to intensify efforts in the upcoming game to remain in the championship .
“Our start was disappointing, and we tried to make up for that. The girls are happy now; they still want to remain in the tournament they don’t want to go home,” he said.
“They had to step up their game to ensure we stayed among the contenders for the title. It’s also good that we faced strong opposition it helps us prepare better for the next challenge.”
The coach further stated that the technical crew will work on identified weaknesses before their next outing.
“We have to fix the areas where our opponents were able to penetrate. We’ll correct those mistakes and come back stronger,” he concluded.defeats in their opening two group matches, the Nigerian girls managed to qualify for the knockout stage after bouncing back strongly in their final group fixture.
