
The much anticipated 20 Years of Sensational Sports Journalism Anniversary of the Veteran journalist , Dayo Ojo of Oyomesi FM commenced on Saturday with a football tourney, tagged “Veterans Football Competition”
Match day one fixtures produced three wins and two draws at the end of the exciting games played at the Federal School of Surveying , Oyo.
In the first fixtures of the day, Wesley Ambassadors, Ibadan and New Castle legend settled for a goalless draw, Oyo Alaafin Ambassadors lost to Advance Ambassadors by a lone goal while NFCA , Oyo Zone defeated Oyo Bankers 2 -0 .


Oyo Alaafin Ambassadors came out stronger in the second game , defeating Akinyele Living Legends by a lone goal . Wesley Ambassadors, Ibadan secured maximum points against Afijio Ambassadors with a 3-0 victory.


Speaking shortly after the kick-off ceremony, the celebrant, Dayo Ojo, foundly called “Okocha” lauded the leadership of the participating teams and entire members for identifying with him .
Reflecting on his journey in the media industry, the celebrant described the anniversary as a platform to appreciate God, his fans and followers for their numerous support over the years.
He acknowledged the show of love displayed by the participating teams and presence of stakeholders in the sporting world .
The Chairman, Sports Organizing Committee, Afe Adeniyi , while speaking on behalf of the committee, expressed delight in the turn – out recorded at the match venue.

He sought continued support of the participating teams, match officials, the media and philanthropists as the tournament progresses.
His words ” We sincerely appreciate all the participating teams for thier support, commitment, and spirit of sportsmanship displayed both on and off the pitch. This truly reflected the spirit of the game and its values .
