The Oyo State Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli, has urged Muslims to use the occasion of Maulud Nabiy to renew their commitment to the teachings, virtues and exemplary lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Alli made the call in a goodwill message to Muslims in Oyo State and across Nigeria, stressing that the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad should go beyond celebration but to inspire practical commitment to peace, justice, compassion and responsible leadership.

He described Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as an exceptional model of patience, honesty, humility, forgiveness and peaceful coexistence, saying his life provided enduring lessons for humanity irrespective of religious, ethnic or political differences.

According to him, “Maulud Nabiy is a reminder that leadership is about service, sacrifice, justice and compassion. As Muslims, we must demonstrate these virtues in our homes, communities, workplaces and public responsibilities.”

The APC candidate urged Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings on peaceful coexistence, respect for human dignity and care for the vulnerable, saying these values remained essential to building a prosperous and united Oyo State.
Alli called on political leaders and citizens to place the interests of the people above personal ambitions, stressing that Nigeria needed leaders committed to justice, accountability, compassion and service to humanity.
He particularly urged Muslims to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State and its people, saying sustained prayers, unity and collective efforts were necessary for Nigeria to overcome its economic and security challenges.
The lawmaker also appealed to Muslims to use the occasion to strengthen family values, support the less privileged and extend kindness to neighbours, irrespective of religious or political affiliations.
He said the Prophet’s life demonstrated that societies could only achieve enduring peace and development when their people embraced justice, mutual respect, tolerance and compassion.
Alli congratulated Muslims on the Maulud celebration and prayed that Allah would continue to bless Oyo State, Nigeria and its people with peace, stability, prosperity and responsible leadership.
“May the blessings of Maulud Nabiy bring peace to our homes, prosperity to our communities and renewed hope to our nation. May Allah accept our prayers and guide us towards a better and more united Nigeria,” he said.
