—- Commiserates with Family, Yoruba Entertainment Community
The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, His Eminence Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola De-Damak, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of veteran Nigerian actor, filmmaker and cultural icon, Taiwo Hassan Ogogo.
In a condolence message released by his special assistant on Media and Communications, Faysol Oluwakemi, Aare Musulumi described the passing of the celebrated actor as a painful loss to his family, colleagues, the Yoruba film industry and the entire Nigerian creative community.
He said Ogogo’s decades-long contribution to Yoruba theatre and film helped preserve and promote the Yoruba language, culture, history and values through his exceptional talent and dedication to the arts.
Aare Musulumi said the death of Taiwo Hassan Ogogo was a great loss to the Yoruba people, the Nigerian entertainment industry and the nation at large, noting that the late actor was not only a talented performer but also a cultural ambassador who used his craft to promote Yoruba language, traditions and identity.
He noted that Ogogo’s contributions to the development of Yoruba theatre and film would remain an important part of Nigeria’s cultural history.
Aare Musulumi extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late actor, his colleagues in the Yoruba entertainment industry, friends, associates and admirers across Nigeria and beyond.
He urged the family to take solace in this trying period and prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and give his loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
The Aare Musulumi also called on members of the entertainment industry and the public to continue to celebrate and preserve the legacies of veterans who have contributed immensely to the growth of Nigerian arts and culture.
