Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji has tendered his resignation letter to President Bola Tinubu following the recent allegations of fake certificate made against him.
The announcement of his resignation was confirmed in a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Nnaji, appointed in August 2023, submitted his resignation letter on Tuesday, expressing deep appreciation to President Tinubu for the opportunity given to him to serve the nation.

He described his decision as a necessary step amid what he termed a “politically motivated campaign of blackmail” orchestrated by his detractors.
In his letter, the former minister thanked the President for the trust and confidence placed in him throughout his tenure, emphasizing his commitment to national progress despite the challenges he faced.
Reacting to the development, President Tinubu commended Nnaji for his contributions to his administration and wished him well in his future endeavours.
