Best Talent Football Club of Mowe on Sunday emerged champions of the maiden edition of Redemption City Football Tournament with a 2-1 victory over Grace Arcade at the Redemption High School stadium, Mowe, Ogun State.
The Champions, Best Talent FC were rewarded with a sum of Two Million Naira ( #2,000,000) by the organizers of the tournament.
The tournament which came to a thrilling conclusion have Akinola Jamiu and Olaniyan Komolafe Ezekiel humbled their opponents at 4 and 10 minutes of the encounter respectfully .
Known as integrity team, Best Talent remains unbeaten in the competition having decimated KIC FC 6-1 in the semi finals and steam rose other teams in the previous stages, thus propelled the players to decline to settle for less but the coveted trophy. The club had 19 goals and conceded 2 .
Speaking with the Head Coach of the Mowe giants, Farouk Yusuf, he appreciated the Chairman of the club, Mr Adeyinka Adeyemo for his massive support towards the resounding success.
According to him , this is another title won by this club in quick succession having won GreenLock Summer Football tournament.
He equally commended the Management team for the support and his players for their commitment, doggedness and resilience in lifting the trophy.
In his words: “I like to give a big kudos to my players for doing a wonderful job today. They all played to my instructions and the tactical and technical advice given reflected in the outcome of the game. What people should know is that no game is won in advance as every final is not always easy. Everyone believes they deserve the trophy too but its only meant for a team that God chooses.
“This is our time to collectively rejoice and give God Almighty the glory. Grace Arcade resisted all incursions threw at them but my boys employed other strategies to dislodge their antics and at the end of the day, it paid off .
” The founder of the club, Adeyinka Adeyemo, has been a moral boosting tonic for the success of the team and I cannot but thank him for his massive support so far. He is a man of his words, he has been a pillar of strength to the team”
