Delta State Govt Settles Warri Wolves , Delta Queens Outstanding Salaries/ Bonuses

Delta State Governor , Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has ordered the immediate payment of all outstanding salaries of players and officials of Warri Wolves and Delta Queens into their personal accounts .

The newly appointed Director General of the Delta State Sports Commission, Mr. Festus Ohwodjero , on Friday, revealed that the players had received the backlog of salaries and bonuses owed by their clubs .

The Director General added that the Governor approved the payment of the six months salary and bonuses owed Warri Wolves players and the four months salary and bonuses owed Delta Queens players and officials.
According to him “the salaries were paid directly into the players and officials accounts unlike the usual procedure of paying the salaries into the account of the Clubs who subsequently pay the players and official.

Recall that the players of Delta Queens held meeting with the Director General on Thursday to register their predicament with the Director General assuring them that the Governor had already set in motion the payment of all their outstanding salaries.
