El-Kanemi Warriors Crowned President Federation Cup Champions

as Borno MGG Chairman Congratulate State Governor on team’s success

El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club of Maiduguri have been crowned champions of the 2024 President Federation Cup .

The club became the current king of the old and prestigious championship after beating Abia Warriors of Umuahia , 2- 0 on Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Lagos .

Nasiru Saliu was the hero of the day, scoring in the 31st and 68th minute of the encounter .

The score line could have been 3 – Nil but Nasiru Saliu was unable to convert the penalty kick awarded for the team by the referee at the early stage of the second stanza .

The team were rewarded with 50 million naira as prize money.

El-Kanemi Warriors gained promotion from the NNL in the just concluded season to the Nigeria Premier Football League ( NPFL), and the club is expected to further prove its worth in the apex football league in the country.
