Excitement is building in Oyo town as renowned media outfit , Hyzik Media Concepts, in collaboration with the Anniversary Planning Committee prepare to honor personalities at the grand finale of the 20th anniversary of veteran sports journalist, Dayo Ojo, popularly known as Okocha.
The highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. Mary’s Callister Hall, located within the St. Bernardine’s Grammar School, Oyo. The ceremony is expected to attract sports enthusiasts, media professionals, and notable dignitaries from within and outside Oyo state.
According to a statement released by the Chairman, Anniversary Planning Committee, Adedamola Adegoke, the celebration will feature a blend of sporting and entertainment activities, such as live Sports presentation and analysis, sports quiz, veterans football final match and award presentations to distinguished personalities.
The statement hinted further that some of prominent personalities to bestow with award of honor including Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi (Skimeh), have confirmed to grace the occasion.
Akinyele Living Legends and Wesley Ambassadors, both from Ibadan are to contest for the trophy in the final match of the veterans football competition, scheduled for 10:00 AM.
To add glamour to the event are respected sports analysts and media figures in the pacesetter state, including Olawale Hamzat and Obadare Oladosu during live sports presentation.
The event marks two decades of contributions by Dayo Ojo Okocha to sports development and media engagements.
Organizers say the anniversary is not only a celebration of past achievements but also a platform to inspire the next generation of athletes and media professionals .
