The Electoral Empire in Ivory Coast has declared 83 -Year -Old ,President Alassane Quattara winner of the 2025 Ivorian Presidential Election.
Alassane Quattara polled 89.77 percent of the vote as announced on Monday by the country’s Independent Electoral Commission.
His emergence made him one of the longest serving president in the country, having previously served third term consecutively.
The election, held on October 25, was marked by the exclusion of key opposition figures, including former president Laurent Gbagbo and ex–prime minister Tidjane Thiam, both of whom were barred from contesting due to eligibility disputes.
According to the commission, voter turnout stood at just around 50 percent, reflecting what analysts describe as growing political fatigue and frustration among the electorate. Opposition groups have criticized the process, calling it “neither free nor fair,” while government officials maintain that the poll was conducted transparently and peacefully.
Ouattara, addressing supporters in Abidjan, described his victory as a “renewed mandate to continue building a prosperous and united Ivory Coast,” promising economic stability and investment in youth development.
However, international observers have raised concerns over democratic backsliding, noting that the continued amendments to the constitution have allowed the incumbent to extend his stay in power — a trend increasingly seen across parts of West Africa.
Quattara is expected to serve until 20230 .
