NL0 Divison 2: Oyo FA Announces Play Off Date, Promises A Level Playing Ground

Sult De King(SDK) of Ibadan and Iwalewa FC of Saki are set for crucial encounter for the two legged battles that will take place at Olubadan Stadium and Saki Township Stadium respectively.

The two teams will vie for a place in the Nationwide League 2 Divison.

SDK who impressed in the zonal competition in Ibadan enjoyed a smooth jolly ride over other contending teams , while Iwalewa were dominant in Saki Zone to reach this stage.

Chairman, Oyo State Football Association, Alakinyele of Akinyele, HRM Oba James Odeniran, noted that the Association has provided a level playing ground for all teams stressing that the best team will win the ticket.

Addressing newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the former Premier League referee asserted that the only way the football can grow is to make the game truly competitive, saying this would enable the state to have a worthy representative in all fonts.

“I want to inform you that Oyo State Football Association has put all machinery in place to have a smooth running Divison 2 Play off. The format will be released soon by the Secretary and we have designed it in such a way that the ticket will go to the best team”.

“Let me add that in Oyo state, poor officiating is totally forbidden bearing in mind that those who found guilty in NLO Division 1 were later this year sanctioned accordingly. The two teams know that there’s no anointed candidate as we have evolved a level playing ground that will build a sustainable football culture in Oyo state “. Said the respected Monarch

Expantiating on the arrangement put in place by the State Football Association, the Secretary, Oyo State Football Association, Mr Kehinde Ojelowo reeled out the rules of engagements and clarified that the qualifiers will be in home and away format. The release reads in part :

“We have decided on the modality of the qualifiers and it’s going to be 2 legged matches to determine 1st and second “

“First match is billed to hold on Wednesday, 28th August, 2024 at Olubadan Stadium, Ibadan by 4pm while the second leg comes up Monday, 2nd September, 2024 at Saki Township Stadium, Irewole,Saki at 4pm with gate taken pegged at #200 only”
