Osun United FC Seminar: Ibadan Based Journalist, Agunbiade, Others To Deliver lectures
In a bid to educate and sensitize football fans on the spirit of Sportsmanship ahead of the commencement of 2024/2025 Nigeria National League Season, Management of Osun United Football Club under the able leadership of Honourable Gbenga Ololade has announced the well vast journalist, Sunday Agunbiade popularly known as Mr VAR to deliver lectures on fans Behavior, crowd control and players-staff relationship.
The graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University , Ile -Ife who was part of the Delta 2022 National Sports Festival Media Committee , will be among other guests to orientate the critical stakeholders in the state of Osun on the expectations of the Board of the Most Important League from the fans , club officials, staff and management before during and after every match.
According to a statement released on behalf of the club by Honorable Gbenga Ololade, the resource persons would also educate participants on possible punitive measures that await defiant clubs who might fall short of the required standards in line with the stipulated rules .
The statement reads :
“Its no longer news that the most important League will commence on November 30th 2024 and Osun United will hold a pre-season seminar to orientate fans coaches, staff, management ,media and players a of the Omoluabi Giant at the Club office on Tuesday, 29th October, 2024 and we have picked experienced journalist, holder of Masters Degree in Comparative Linguistics to handle the portion of the Seminars”.
” We want him to prepare participants adequately ahead of the new season.” Said Honourable Gbenga Ololade
On the choice of the resource persons for the upcoming seminar, the Community Relations Manager for the NNL Side, Alhaji Abimbola Gbenga Rafiu said “We have decided to include Sunday Agunbiade Mr VAR as one of the resource persons for the forthcoming Preseason seminar. He is an highly experienced reporter and uncompromising blunt analyst with credible integrity noticeable across major sports platforms in Nigeria. We believe the participants will benefit immensely from his wealth of knowledge. Referees and other facilitators will work together and get the job done come Tuesday. “
“You’re aware that we’re organising this seminar to ensure Club fans/supporters, coaches, players and media guys are tutored on what is expected of them as the 2024/2025 season kicks off . And to get it right this time around, we need an experienced resource persons to lecture the participants and that’s why we’re going for the best,” he disclosed
In his reaction, an Ibadan based sports analyst, Sunday Agunbiade , said he’s humbled to be considered worthy to be one of the resource persons, promising to handle the job brilliantly well considering his stance on act of hooliganism at match venues.
He noted that officiating and fans behavior are like seismic twins which must be handed properly for the Nigeria football not to be in disrepute.
Referees, coaches and other resource persons are expected at the seminar on Tuesday .
