Prince Oladimeji Royal Football Competition Kicks Off In Oyo

The opening game of the maiden edition of Prince Oladimeji Football Competition took center stage on Friday at Durbar Stadium in Oyo town .
Oladimeji FC, Ibadan thrashed Net Breakers FC, Oyo (5-0 ) in the scouting Football Tournament Among Youth Clubs in Oyo and Its Environs, Organized by the reputable media outfit, Hyzik Media Nigeria, under the leadership of Ace broadcaster, Dayo Ojo.
Toye Oyebamiji scored hat-trick for much coordinated Oladimeji’s side , scoring a brace in the first half and another in the second stanza of the interesting encounter.
Idowu Opeyemi and Akere Yusuff added a goal each in the second half of the game, dominated by the visitors.
The sponsor of the tournament, Prince Daud Oladimeji Agunloye , while addressing sport journalists , said the motive behind the tourney was to promote talented players in the town and sporting activities in general.
The donor , who spoke through Prince Kehinde Oladimeji Agunloye, hinted that the competition will avail the players opportunity to showcase their talents before scouts with a view to assisting them to attain greater heights in the game of football.
Prince Oladimeji, however, appealed to well to do individuals in the town to invest in sports, saying this would help the youths become independent and also prevent them from engaging in bad activities.
His words : ” Our intention is to promote the players , football and the town as a whole .
” I can see there are many players in this town . I pray that God will use me for some players in Oyo town to become professional footballers .
” We are inviting scouts, managers to look for players to get contract for in the future . I am appealing to rich people to help our youths, host competitions so that they won’t go outside and fight.
In his remarks , Oba Onimole of Oyo, Oba Ifakayode Okediran Alaka, lauded the sponsor of the football competition for the initiative .
The revered monarch also acknowledged the efforts of the organizers and relevant stakeholders, admonishing them not to relent but put in the necessary efforts till the end of the tournament.
The event had in attendence Akiniku of Oyo town, High Chief Amusa Yusuff, coaches and other relevant stakeholders.
The tournament continues on Sunday as Spectrum FC face Necot FC by 2pm while PSI FC from Ibadan face Apata FC .
