Former Nigeria U-20 midfielder , Quadri Liameed, son of Hajji Gafar, has survived a frightening head injury sustained during a Spanish Segunda League encounter between his club, CE Sabadell, and Albacete.
Quadri reportedly lost consciousness for approximately 30 seconds after an opponent’s kick struck his head, triggering a scary moment during the encounter.

Thankfully, the talented midfielder is now in stable condition and receiving medical attention.

Speaking on his son’s condition, Hajji Gafar said:

“My son is now in a stable condition and is pexpected to undergo a Buffalo Concussion Bike Test (BCBT) within the next 48 hours. The Spanish medical team attending to him gave me some encouraging news yesterday, and I am relieved and grateful.
“I also intend to travel to Spain within the next 10 days to personally see Quadri, spend some time with him and support him through this recovery process.”
Quadri’s style of play has been defined by determination, intelligence and an exceptional ability to win second balls. Since the age of 11, he has been a tireless presence in midfield, earning a reputation as a true midfield marshal who leaves no stone unturned.
His football development under respected Nigerian coaches, including Manu Garba, Nduka Ugbade and Ladan Bosso, helped shape his character and tenacity. He later went on to win a silver medal with Nigeria’s Flying Eagles at the 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco, under the guidance of Coach Paul Aigbogun.
These qualities and his commitment to the game have contributed to his professional football journey in Spain over the past five years.
Quadri is a strong young man and a true Lion. His fighting spirit has always been evident on the pitch, and we remain confident that he will overcome this difficult moment.
The entire 36 Lion Football Club family, the Lagos State football family and the Nigerian football community join in wishing Quadri a smooth and speedy recovery.
Stay strong, Quadri. The Lions are firmly behind you!
